am totally exhausted after walking and standing for 7 hours to see the Cross Country at Beas River but it was worth it. Gentle rain so no horse or human got too hot, some fantastic riding and the horses -- just green with envy!
The organization was excellent, no faults especially all the volunteers. After 18 years in HK, I have never seen so many HK residents smile and look so happy. They must have had smiling classes! getting all the spectators away went very well. There must have been 30 or more double decker buses waiting to ferry them to the train. We walked back to the car, and my feet hurt, my hip hurts for some reason, and I think I've messed up my knee again, but it was so good. Mary King is only a few years younger than me, and she went round that course like the brilliant rider she is. All the HK folk groaned when the Chinese Eton schoolboy fell off, it sounds like really bad luck. We saw riders over all the fences and managed to miss all the refusals, eliminations etc.
Final showjumping tomorrow night after work.
